On the 20^th birth anniversary of the

Bagpipe Italian Group

For the first time the marvellous, ancient little town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, Tuscany, Italy, will give hospitality to the 5° BIG Gathering, the annual Italian Pipers’ gathering organized by the B.I.G.- Bagpipe Italian Group with the help of the Italian Pipers’ Association.This year, once again, the BIG Gathering will have the pleasure to have, amongst the pipers coming from all sides of Italy and Europe, dearest friends and pipers such as Franco Calanca and Alberto Massi from Italy and the City of Rome Pipe Band.Their task is to have people feel yet again the intense emotions that were felt in the paste editions together with Bill Livingstone, Allan MacDonald, Bruce Gandy, Barnaby Brown and Bruno LeRouzic.
This year we'll welcome for the second time Roddy MacLeod and we'll be overjoyed hosting the young and innovative Canadian piper Michael Grey.

Drummers are very welcome thanks the generous and kind teaching by Steve Kilbride (Sco).

A three days gathering with an intense program : workshops, concerts, massed band, piping contest, tuition and, last but not the least, friendship, happiness and Italian food and wine.

The BIG Gathering n.5 will be held on the 21st, 22^nd and 23^rd of September at the “Chianti’s Hostel” in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.

The BIG n.5° can gather no more than 70 people.

The dead line to enter has been fixed on the 5^th of September.
