BIG Gathering

Dear Pipers and Drummers,

we are delighted to be able to announce the opening of entries for the BIG Gathering 2024.

As is well known the BIG Gathering, now in its 22nd edition, is an occasion of celebration and meeting between all and all fans of pipes, snare, tenor and bass drums at any level, from beginner to advanced. Where both those who already play in a pipe band, both those who are approaching the study of instruments finds the venue, the opportunity and the right people to share and not infrequently also find answers to the many questions and doubts that arise during the often solitary study in the closed of their room, despite the good schools and good teachers that we can finally say, are now present in good numbers in our country.

This year’s Gathering is also of particular importance because it is linked to a very ambitious project that we are working on for future occasions and we will talk about it, while in this September we are working to revive the public concert on Saturday evening in the prestigious venue of the Conservatory G.Verdi in Milan.

What we propose this year is a collective study experiment on a set of which we will provide scores of gradual difficulty on which we can therefore study all together. This will get us used to sharing problems and creating a much more effective ensemble sound than individual study. Roddy MacLeod can of course help us with this work!
